ASEP was established in 1981 by the founder of Aggreko (acronym for Aggregates Koopmans). ASEP is an acronym for Aggreko Special Equipment Productions and has roots dating back to 1962.
From the start ASEP has been synonymous with quality, innovation and perfection. Over the past 25 years ASEP has manufactured some 2000 units, operating in over 90 countries. ASEP has grown in this period from 6 to more than 400 employees, at 10+ different locations in 9 countries and 4 continents. The groups’ customer base is comprised of the highest quality demanding companies in the world.
After designing and manufacturing specifically winches and masts for a few decades, ASEP has been able to establish a standard range of units, which has resulted in high quality, competitively priced units, usually available from stock.
In the process of selecting a winch unit there are a number of determining factors, such as; wire size, operation type, size and weight limitation and after 25 years of developing winches we feel that we have established a logical matrix of units types, configurations and sizes, which will most likely suit every need.
This has resulted in a range of winches that are completely modular, to allow our clients maximum flexibility in how they can utilize their assets, and fully upgradeable to ensure that the winch that they purchase today can be upgraded into the winch that they need tomorrow.
Our winches are designed to comply with the world's most stringent rules and regulations and we are constantly integrating the requirements of upcoming standards into our designs.
The wireline support mast range is expanded with a currently developed lift range of masts which are based on a modular stackable column system, resulting in a very low minimum component weight and several other important innovations that are industry firsts that will contribute to an increase in operator safety and productivity.
We have developed 2 chassis mountable truck bodies, called DataTruck (in aluminium) and UniTruck (moulded composite body). They are both available in 3 versions, slickline, cased hole and open hole.
They are super standard bodies that provide maximum storage capacity, insulation, durability, operator comfort and cost efficiency, available with a choice of winch systems.
Also popular are the SmartMonitors within the ASEP Automation Products product line. These are cutting edge, highly innovative, computer monitoring and control system solutions for winches using the latest ruggidised computer technology, providing functionality from simple display to autopilot. In conjunction with these we have developed the SmartOffice analysis package that can offer a range of possibilities from simple visualisation of recorded data right through to full automated wire management and job reporting systems.
